WHAT IS A CLICKER?
An Automated Student Response device
Cordless & Portable
Uses radio waves to send responses to a base which
processes the response data
A USB drive contains memory which runs the
clicker program software and a grade book
A separate remote is used by the instructor which
controls the questions being presented to the class
Can also advance PowerPoint slides!
CLICKERS…
Why i>Clicker?
CASSL funded a study on student response systems and we
found that they were the most economical and practical
option for our students at CRC.
i>Clickers are sold at the CRC bookstore for $30 used,
$40 new;
Los Rios “standard”
Also sold on Ebay, CL, Amazon, etc.
Each takes three AAA batteries.
Training programs for instructors by i>Clicker
Many other companies make student response systems but they were
not feasible for our needs in the social sciences department.
THE VALUE OF
