Distributive Property
This property combines multiplication
with addition and subtraction.
 To multiply a sum or difference, multiply
each number within the parentheses by
the number outside the parentheses.

3(2 + 6)
3(2 + 6)
Distribute the 3 to both numbers inside
of the parentheses by multiplying.
 3(2) + 3(6)

6 + 3(6)
6 + 18
24
Examples:

20(100 + 2)
8(15 – 5)

property with variables, too!
