Compared with topology-based routing protocols,
a
routing
protocol
using
GPS
position
information offers the possibility to alleviate
issues of scalability or control overhead.
A
next-hop forwarding method is a type of
position-based routing protocol.
Introduction

The
easiest scheme is greedy forwarding, in
which the neighbor node closest to the
destination node is selected as the next-hop node.
This forwarding method requires the minimum
number of hops from the source node to the
destination node, but the forwarding distance of
one hop might be large.
