They are dependent clauses

When, where, why, or how something happened

Examples:
1. Unless you run fast, you will miss the bus.
2. As we bought the tickets, the movie was starting.
3. You must keep practicing the guitar until you get it right.
4. The fireworks show will start after the sun goes down.

Adverb Clause Poetry
You will write an adverb clause poem.
The poem should be 2 stanzas of 5 lines each stanza.
The first 4 lines of each stanza are adverb clauses.
The 5th line of each stanza is a simple sentence.

When I get home,
As I take off my shoes,
While I walk upstairs,
As I’m digging through my bag,
I finally get to be alone.
After Im alone,
While listening to music,
While starting my homework,
As I talk to my friends,
My day starts to get better.
