Slide 1: students delete the words your name and have them type in their name
Slide 2: students sort the animals into different categories according to
characteristics that they see or know

Slide 3: students explain why they put the animals into the categories that they
created
•
Slide 4 & 5: students are given 3 animals and they have to explain the
characteristics they share that would allow them to be categorized in the same
group
•
Slide 6: students add 3 different clipart animals and then describe what
characteristic they all have in common
•
Slide 7: this slide contains links to websites that the students can visit (The
students will have to view the slideshow in order for the links to work. To do this
they can click Slide Show and then View Show or they can hit the F5 key.)
