What is a Wiki?
A wiki is a page or collection of Web Pages
designed to enable anyone who accesses
it to contribute or modify content, using a
simplified Markup Language

Provides large scale collaboration
 It promotes correlation of information
through easy linking between pages


Cons for Wikis
Reliability
 Information is easily biased by opinions
 Government can control information

Opinions
Wikis are self-correcting
 Good for general information
 Randy Pauch said “It’s ok to use wikipedia
even if others say it is unreliable because
[I] know who writes the World Book
entries”

