The goal of this project is to further medical research by creating a
mouse ventilator that reduces inaccurate results and costly time
delays. Current mouse ventilators and their respective components
will be evaluated in order to integrate existing technologies into a
superior ventilating system. The results of this evaluation helped
determine the design and construction of an improved ventilator
prototype. The outputs from the prototype trials will be evaluated
computationally using a mathematical lung model we developed.
Scope of Project:
• Evaluation of Current Ventilation Methods
• Development of an Improved Ventilator
• Assessment of Prototype
– Outputs
– Mathematical Lung Model
Deliverables:
• Mathematical Model of Lung Function
• Ventilator Design Matrix
• Experimental Design & Approval Form
• Autodesk Inventor Design Drawings
• Functional Prototype
• Computational Analysis of Design Performance
