Advice from current students:
•
‘I'd say the biggest difference between school and university was self motivation …..
at uni you need to realise for yourself that it's in your interest to actually work.’
•
‘I found the adjusting to a new place and new teaching style longest to adapt to and
in general getting back into the work routine after such a long summer.’
•
‘1st semester may seem daunting at first, but fight through it and it will all be
fine (thrown in new environment, new teaching style, large class sizes etc. will make
it seem difficult at first)’
•
‘Keep on top of work and revisit lectures at the end of the week (1 hr min per
module)’
•
‘Make use of the rest of the people on the course, not just lecturers (i.e. make friends
quickly)’
•
‘I'd say time management is key. And managing your social life with studying.’
•
‘Good thing was that I was in charge of my own work, how it was presented.’
•
‘I like how university exams are not mark scheme based but actually are testing your
understanding and your thought process, how you get to the final answer (even if it
isn't correct)- personally hated mark schemes and how specific they were’
