Contacting the University Police
If you call 911 anywhere in the county tell the
dispatcher your approximate location and you
will be transferred to the appropriate agency.
Starting in 2016 the Texas State University
Police, the San Marcos Police and the Hays
County sheriff will become the first agencies in
the nation to have an integrated county
computer aided dispatch system

– Only Licensed training facility in the nation at a
University

– Safety escorts offered to groups of less then 3
• (3 or more people considered a safe walking group)
– Escorts offered between dusk and dawn

– Conducts security checks on all buildings and
residence halls on campus.
– Conducts vehicle unlocks (non-powered locks) and
vehicle jump starts after hours.

– University sponsored organization which provides
rewards for tips on crimes
• Bicycle Registration
– Bicycle registration program offered by the
university, registration is currently voluntary

– Crime prevention division oversees found
property on campus

– Certified Crime Prevention specialists provide
training in Alcohol Education
