Once a database is achieved WA/WB/WC,
QA/QB, O, and I/L can be rotated as the C and
S categories

The assessment process, itself, is subject to
assessment, and therefore, revision over time.
HOW TO ASSESS USP

Suggested Process
Plan ahead to ensure that one or more assignments
meets the scoring sheet criteria (read the scoring
sheet)
 Collect assignment(s) from students

 Grade
assignment for course purposes
 Assess assignment for USP purposes
Return graded assignment to students
 Complete online scoring rubric and submit to Academic
Affairs

 Data
collected by category
 Data maintained in database
HOW TO ASSESS USP CONTINUED

Scoring rubric online

Submit to Academic Affairs within 2 weeks
after the end of semester classes

Be sure to provide brief description of
assignment
