GUIDELINES
•
Duration: 8 weeks (during Summer Session)
 Between May 16th and August 26th
• Work week: not less than 5 working days
• Working Hours: as per the host company (not less that 6 hours/day)
• Supervision:
 AUB: OSB Faculty Mentor
 Company: Work Supervisor
• Grading: based on evaluations of direct work supervisor and OSB
mentor
• The internship grade is included in the overall average

REQUIREMENTS
• Should be a Business major
• Junior standing
• Have completed by the end of Fall 15-16 at least:


38 credits (if admitted as sophomores)
68 credits (if admitted as freshmen)
• Completed (by the end of Spring 15-16 or taken it in the summer
after working hours):





Prepare your CV
• Solicit your own internship through personal effort:
• Networking is the #1 way to find opportunities
• Talk to senior students or alumni
• Talk directly to employers (Job Fairs)
• Browse the internet & apply online (through company website)
• Check the list of previous host companies and their contact details
on OSB website
• Check the list of internships that will be posted on OSB Career
Development Center (Only one can be selected)
• Start looking for an internship Now! Don’t postpone

Online registration is mandatory (independent from AUBsis)
Between February 3rd – February15th
OSB will send an email to all eligible students to register online
To register online:

Completing the online application is mandatory, if you do not
register you will not be able to officially register for your
internship

DEADLINE
•
Deadline for securing an internship: April 29th, 2016

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
• Acceptance Letter (on company letter head) including the
following:
 Student Name
 The beginning and the end dates of the internship period (Any
8 weeks between May 16th and August 26th )
 The department joined and the name/title of the direct work
supervisor if available
 The e-mail, phone, fax, and address of the company and the
direct supervisor

ACCEPTANCE
• All internships are considered approved unless notified
otherwise

ASSIGNING MENTORS
• Beginning of May, students will have an academic mentor
• Students should check with their respective mentors for further
instructions before the start of the internship

PAYMENT OF FEES
• May 17th – June 2nd
• BUSS 245 is a One-Credit course

COMMON QUESTIONS
• What if I do not have an internship by April 29th?
 You might have to postpone your internship until the summer of 2017
• What if the company does not confirm acceptance by April 29th?
 Stress the deadline to the host company
