Student Life Centre
 The Student Life Centre offers information and advice on a






range of issues including:
Personal concerns affecting study progress or well-being
Funding and finance including scholarships, bursaries and
hardship funds
Sources of help to improve academic performance –
identifying obstacles to learning
Understanding University systems and regulations in
relation to assessment, services, complaints, conduct and
discipline
Progression, intermission and withdrawal processes discussion and support
Referrals to other professional services on campus
Student Support Unit
 Offers support and advice to prospective and current





students with specific learning difficulties, unseen, mobility
and sensory impairments, mental health conditions and
autism spectrum disorders
Assists with applications for the Disabled Students’
Allowances
Assists with applications for personal care provision and
liaison with Social Services as required
Liaises with University staff over teaching and examination
arrangements
Arranges support workers, note-takers, scribes etc
Liaises with Residential Services over accommodation
needs
Widening Participation Team
 Works with schools and colleges to advise
students from low participation
neighbourhoods about the opportunities
available to them at university

 Advice and University of Sussex Students’ Union
(USSU)
The USSU Advice & Representation Centre can give students free, independent
and confidential information, advice and support on a range of academic and
non-academic issues. Delivered by professional advisers and elected student
representatives : the service is independent from the University .
 Residential Advisers in the University Halls of
Residence: Residential Student Support Team
In Residential Services, the Residential Student Support Team is for students
living in University managed accommodation in order to help students to adjust
to communal living and provide you with welfare support.
