Objectives of the course

Learn how to evaluate the patient with suspected peripheral nervous system disease Anatomy and physiology of the peripheral nervous system Disordersof the peripheral nervous system (e.g., muscular dystrophy, inflammation of muscle or nerve, entrapment of nerves, ALS, myasthenia gravis, neuropathies) Learn the physical principles of biomedical instrumentation Acquire the skills to conduct nerve conduction studies and electromyography : Appropriate use of equipment and study protocols; Correct application of recording electrodes and nerve stimulation electrodes; Recognize waveforms associated with clinical findings
