Assembly Bill 86 - Adult Education
“It is the intent of the legislature to work toward
developing common policies related to adult
education affecting adult schools . . .and
community colleges including policies on fees and
funding levels.”
“It is the intent of the legislature to provide
additional funding to the consortium in 2015-2016
to expand and improve adult education.”
The Sierra Joint Consortium
“Sierra Joint” Consortium Members include:
Nevada Union Adult Education – A. Bagwell, T. Dellis
Placer School for Adults – B. Bettencourt
Roseville Adult School – Joyce Lude (fiscal agent)
Sierra College – Stephanie Ortiz, Darlene Jackson
Consortium Partners include regional adult education
program and services providers.

Adult Student Support and Educational Training Services.
Adult Education Consortiums
shall provide:
1. Elementary and basic skills (high school diploma
or equivalency);
2. English as a Second Language (ESL) and
citizenship classes;
3. Programs for adults with disabilities;
4. Short-term CTE programs; and
5. Programs for apprentices.
