Strong Scholarship
 Each year, SSP Kappa Chapter awards a $1,000
scholarship to a second year student who has
demonstrated outstanding academic scholarship and
provided noteworthy service to UNECOM, the
osteopathic profession, and the surrounding
community. We offer this scholarship in honor of the
first dean of our college, William B Strong, DO.
Members of the second year class are nominated by
their classmates and submit an application, which is
reviewed by a faculty committee of basic and clinical
science professors.
Block Exam Reviews
 6 block exams for OMS-I students throughout the year
 All basic science subjects are combined into an
Osteopathic Medical Knowledge (OMK) class
 We are planning a basic science (OMK) review before the
OMS-I block exam in which we will focus on the most
confusing subjects for students within that unit
 May host a “how to study in med school” session with
tips and suggestions for staying afloat the first year
