This book is fascinating, chronicling the dramatic breakthroughs in medical science in the last
century, explaining why there have been fewer such breakthroughs in recent years, and
discussing why we may not be able to expect more breakthroughs in the future. It is sobering to
realize that modern medicine as we know it has been around for less than a hundred years and
that for most of human history medicine was mostly quackery. It is also remarkable and a little
disturbing that most of the great discoveries in medical science came about almost by accident,
not to say luck. This book is a real eye-opener, both for the achievements and the limitations of
modern medicine.

Excellent. The truth about why perfectly healthy people suddenly are declared sick in order to
force them to take/buy medicines from the Big Pharma. The conflict of interest generated when
doctors receive payments/gifts from the Pharmaceutical companies that will benefit from their
prescriptions should be addressed ASAP since the cost of medicine skyrockets as a result of
this collusion.
