Preparatory Meeting 1:
 Presentation of the programme
 Introduction into the concept of "Global Vienna"
 Thematic framework
 Requirements and working methods
 Group-work: Building of thematic working groups to each of the six
excursion topics.
First assignments:
Study required readings
Conceptualize your paper in the group, find out points of interest and
develop fields and methods for your research
Prepare an outline for your paper to be presented at the Preparatory
Meeting 2

Preparatory Meeting 2:
 Discussion based on readings and group discussion
 Presentation of concepts and outlines of your papers in groups:
thematic interests, research methods. Group-work: Prepare
questions for your research to be answered by the advisers.
 Preparation of the excursion days:

- deciding on roles and activities (“guides”, “head of

PRESENTATION / EVALUATION

Group-work: Go through all types of collected information
(texts, oral information, impressions, interviews ….)
Prepare a paper with regard to the selected topic (5-10 pages
per group. Content: topic, research questions, research
methods, results, conclusions)
Apply your conclusion to the places or institutions visited during
the excursion. Does your conclusion reflect both architectural
and social structures?
Present your results in class (each group 20 minutes)

Evaluation: oral and written (fill in evaluation form)



