Core 44 College Transfer (CT)
Pathways
For eligible high school juniors & seniors who wish to
gain transferable college credit while in high school
Structured pathways to accelerate completion of 2-year
college degree
Four CT Pathways to choose from:




Business & Economics (33 hrs.)
Engineering & Mathematics (32 hrs.)
Humanities & Social Science (33 hrs.)
Life & Health Sciences (33 hrs.)
Transfer Degrees at VGCC
Associate in Arts (AA)
 Associate in Science (AS)

 Both degrees are comprised of Core general
education courses that will transfer to any
university in the UNC system

EVERY course within all CT Pathways is
transferrable
 If, a grade of “C” or better is earned

CT Pathway Eligibility

Initial Enrollment:
 Student must:
1. Be a high school junior or senior
2. Have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school
courses
3. Meet the prerequisites for the transfer pathway

Continued Enrollment:
 Student must:
1. Continue to progress toward high school
graduation
2. Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college course work after
completing two courses

Qualified HS freshmen & sophomores may
enroll in:
 Engineering Tech Program Codes 40xxx

 Effective Fall 2013
 Criteria:
 “Qualified” (determined by VGCC & LEA)
 Obtain approval for Programs of Study (POS)

Students may concurrently enroll in two
CTE pathways (College approval required)
