Core 44 College Transfer (CT)
Pathways
For eligible high school juniors & seniors who wish to
gain transferable college credit while in high school
Structured pathways to accelerate completion of 2-year
college degree
Four CT Pathways to choose from:
Business & Economics (33 hrs.)
Engineering & Mathematics (32 hrs.)
Humanities & Social Science (33 hrs.)
Life & Health Sciences (33 hrs.)
Transfer Degrees at VGCC
Associate in Arts (AA)
Associate in Science (AS)
Both degrees are comprised of Core general
education courses that will transfer to any
university in the UNC system

12 Hum/Fine Arts
12 Social/Behavioral Sciences
6 Mathematics
8 Nat Sciences
Associate in Science (AS) core credits:

If, a grade of “C” or better is earned

CT Pathway Eligibility
Initial Enrollment:
Student must:
1. Be a high school junior or senior
2. Have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school
courses
3. Meet the prerequisites for the transfer pathway
Continued Enrollment:
Student must:
1. Continue to progress toward high school
graduation
2. Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college course work after
completing two courses
