Introduction
 Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology had a humble beginning in 1997 as




an Engineering College and received deemed to be University status in 2004
under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956
KIIT in a very short span of time turned itself into a multidisciplinary
University with world class facilities and got accredited by NBA and NAAC
with ‘A’ grade
Separate eco-friendly campuses are available for each School with hostels and
various central facilities
The University strives to achieve excellence in teaching- learning, research and
extension activities with emphasis on innovations
Over a foundation of core values – quality, high academic standards and
integrity- the University has progressed in a sustained manner

Admissions

Admission is done through National Level Entrance Exam KIITEE.

Online Entrance test was conducted in 54 cities across India in 75
centers.

No Fees for entrance examination or application form charged.

Nearly 1, 52,000 students applied from all over the country and
neighboring countries this year.

Foreign students get admitted through online entrance test.

Students from 12 countries are pursuing their studies in different
courses of the University.

Teaching Quality Monitoring System
 Academic audit: The academic audit is done on yearly basis by a group of
external auditors.
 Tutor - Mentor System : Tutor- Mentor system has been made operational at
the University from the beginning. In the system 30-35 students are under
direct supervision of a faculty nominated as mentor for the group.
 Feedback systems : The University obtains regular feedback from all the
stake holders, such as, students, alumni, employer, community, academic
peers, industry and parents, etc. through well defined feedback mechanisms.
 Training the Teachers: The university takes several steps to impart training
to the faculty members by conducting Faculty development Programmes,
Seminars , workshops etc,.

for Innovation and Research (CIR) has been established in 2010 to
promote research and development activities in the University. Its a
Coordinating body, created with the Development and protection of intellectual
property (IP).

assistantship given to scholars per month is Rs.7000 for the first two

NCC: Sanctioned strength of NCC senior division is 50. Cadets undergo
training to cover both theory and practical of 360 periods within a span of two
years to enable each cadet to appear ‘B Certificate’ examination at the end of
the first year of training and ‘C Certificate ‘ Examination at the end of the
second year of training. Training Classes are held on Saturday afternoon and
Sunday morning.

NSS:NSS Bureau has continuously involved active students who are deeply
motivated to do more volunteering work for the welfare of the marginalized
sectors of the society and for the betterment of the environment. Up to date,
there are 1,000 NSS volunteers in KIIT University.

 Health Club : The University has established a well equipped Health Club at
par with state-of -art facilities gymnasium inside the Campus with following
instruments : Back Press, Leg Press, Leg Curling, Cline Up Station, Shoulder
Press Butter Fly, Abdominal Exercise Station, Horizontal Bar, Arm Curling
Station, etc.

 Indoor Stadium: The University boasts of its indoor stadium named as “ Biju
Patnaik Indoor Stadium”, which also comprises the modern gymnasium
mentioned above indoor basket ball, volley ball and badminton courts. A rare
facility, namely an air-conditioned billiard room is an integral part of this
indoor stadium.

 Outdoor Stadium : The University has a centrally located outdoor stadium of
about 10 acres which is used for track and field events and also for games like
