accomplished by the
Romans.

the aqueducts.
•Aqueducts are used to
move water in and out of
cities.
•Roman aqueducts
stretched for miles, bringing
fresh water into cities.
•Many parts of these
structures are still standing
today, 2000 years later.
•The arch also enabled the
Romans to build the
Coliseum, the large stadium
in Rome.
•The arch also allowed the
Romans to build domed
buildings.
•A dome is an arch built 360
degrees around.
•This technology is still
used today in building
modern buildings.
