Product and Customer Support
POSITIVE-PRESSURE OPERATION:
Maintains breathing pressure in the facemask above external ambient pressure during both inhalation
and exhalation breathing cycles.
Resists the ingress of external atmospheric toxins into the breathing gas of the BioPak.
CLOSED-CIRCUIT OPERATION:
Breathing gas is recycled to conserve oxygen
and prolong duration.
Closed-circuit operation limits potential leak
points and prevents the ingress of external
atmospheric toxins.
Large tidal volume and low pressure drop
throughout system results in ease of
breathing.
Extended duration over open-circuit design
of identical mass:
Open-Circuit Duration: 45 – 60 minutes
Closed-Circuit Duration: 240 minutes
Lower exhalation resistance as compared to
open-circuit.
ENHANCED SAFETY-SOLID CORE CARBON DIOXIDE SCRUBBER:
Eliminates User Filling:
•
Protects against lethal filling errors.
•
Eliminates user handling of caustic chemicals.
•
Eliminates user exposure to caustic dust.
Provides consistent fill resulting in consistent breathing resistance
Non-Dusting
Non-Channeling
Non-Settling
Eliminates all generated free water
3-year shelf life in factory packaging
1-year shelf life “pre-packed” into BioPak
ENHANCED SAFETY-SYSTEM:
Static-Resistant Housing
Protected Diaphragm
Simplified System Interface
Flame-Resistant Materials (click
on square to see EN-137 flame
resistance testing)
Anti-Fog Laminate Film and
Wiper
Remote Gauge Leak
Isolation
SIMPLICITY OF USE:
At-A-Glance System Interface
Permanent Anti-Fog
Automatic Adjustment to
Breathing Rates
Single Point Activation even while
wearing gloves
“Plug & Play” CO2 scrubbers
Reusable Coolant Modules
ENHANCED COMFORT:
Lowest Breathing Rate Available
Padded & Adjustable Harness
Ergonomic Housing Design
Optional Hydration System
Multiple Mask Sizes
Ice Canisters can be replaced in
hazardous zone
RAPID DEPLOYMENT:
“Plug & Play” scrubber with “PrePack” option
Phase Change Heat Exchanger
Single Point Activation
Quick Make & Break Harness
Slip-in Ice Canisters
At-A-Glance status indication
RELIABILITY:
Less Complicated Alarming System: Provides At-A-Glance recognition of system status
eliminating user confusion due to oversaturation of data and avoiding costly alarming
system breakdowns..
Lower Part Count: Fewer parts yields higher reliability, fewer parts to test, disinfect and
qualify.
Protected Breathing Chamber: Rubber diaphragm of system is protected on all sides by
hard plastic thus eliminating dangers of puncture or tearing should the upper housing
become dislodged.
Historically Proven Pressure Regulator: The BioPak 240R pressure regulator has over
40-years experience in both CCSCBA and SCUBA applications without a demonstrated
need for factory rebuilds or calibration over its life time.
Proven Field Support: Biomarine and its Distributor Network take pride in the post sale
service and support provided to end users through direct training, emergency support
and product support.
REDUCED MAINTENANCE-TURN AROUND:
BioPak Tear Down Parts
(as per manual)
Competitor Tear Down Parts
(as per manual)
Reduced part count for tear down, disinfection, reassembly and testing.
Quick-release breathing loop for speed of tear down and reassembly:
Two (2) pneumatic connections
One (1) electrical connection
Four (4) ¼-turn hold downs
REDUCED MAINTENANCE-LIFE:
Reusable Coolant Modules
No filling
No shaping
No replacement
Single step freeze procedure,
no multiple freeze cycles
required
Tool kit provides all tools and
equipment for all BioPak service.
Optional tools available to enhance
testing or speed maintenance times:
No mandatory component
replacement or re-calibration
Pressure regulator will last life of
the BioPak.
Oxygen cylinder requires hydrotesting every 5-years, 15-year
total life
Digital High Pressure Leak
Detection
Mask Test Kit
Quantitative Fit Kits
Booster pumps and adapters
Drying manifolds
HYDRATION SYSTEM:
Provides up to 1.5-liters of liquid storage.
Allows user hydration through face mask port without introduction of external atmospheres that may contain toxins.
Bladder can stow on harness waist belt, strap to user leg or secured in other manner.
Bladder can be removed and discarded in toxic zone without introducing BioPak leaks or ingress of external
atmosphere or toxins.
Large bore feed tube provides ease of drawing liquid to user.
Hydration system will interface all BioPak mask types.
CUSTOMIZATION:
Biomarine is willing to customize in order to meet the needs of the end user. Customization is limited by
the quantities involved and the impact upon third party agency approvals. Customization can include, but is
not limited to, the following:
BioPak 240R Modifications
Manual Content or Language
Testing procedures and/or Tools
Emergency Procedures
Training Contents and Methods
SUPPORT:
User Training: Instructs users in the donning, normal use, emergency use and doffing of the BioPak.
Benchman Training: Instructs in BioPak theory, maintenance, service and troubleshooting.
Instructor Training: Instructs in BioPak User and Benchman training theory.
Training Sites: Training can be conducted at the Biomarine factory or at the end user cite.
Emergency Support: Provides end user manpower and equipment supplies and support during emergency
events.
Distributor Network: Provides direct face to face post sale product and service support to end users.
Once a user becomes part of the Biomarine family they can rest
assured that Biomarine and the Distributor Network will attend
to all of their product, training and support needs.
FUTURE BIOPAK 240R DEVELOPMENTS:
Biomarine constantly strives to improve the BioPak 240R product based upon
inputs received from the field. End users are encouraged to suggest improvements
based their experience in actual field utilization. Technology searches are
constantly conducted by the Biomarine Research and Design teams . Once a new
technology is found to be plausible in the BioPak 240R design, the Biomarine
Engineering Group works to incorporate the new technology in a manner that will
be favorable to field retro-fit.
Lighter and Stronger Materials
Carbon Dioxide Capture Technologies
Oxygen Storage Technologies
Moisture/Fogging Management Technologies
