left lower lobe. An aberrant artery (white arrow) arising
from the thoracic aorta provides 2 major branches that
supply the nonventilated lung parenchyma. Because the
lung tissue is not connected to the bronchial tree and
depends only on the systemic circulation for the arterial
supply, this pathological condition is known as intralobar
pulmonary sequestration.
