Imperial Valley Renewable Resources
and Cross- border Opportunities
The State Energy Commission of Baja California
(CEEBC) has the goal of PROMOTE investment in
the energy sector in the state, promote a policy of
State which is aimed at finding new schemes for
the generation and distribution of electricity.
IMPERIAL VALLEY RESOURCES
Imperial Valley is home to
more than 2,000 megawatts of
geothermal,
solar
and
wind
energy developments that have
propelled the region into the
spotlight as a renewable energy
leader. Studies show Imperial
Valley has the potential to produce
up to 25,000 megawatts of
renewable energy.

Several factors including the market price
of electricity, demand for renewable power,
tax credits, transmission capacity and other
incentives given to generators will greatly
affect the amount and timing of the
development of the above noted
resources.
CROSS- BORDER OPPORTUNITIES
Since 2004 there have been conditions on the border between the two states for
imported energy projects , which have given them more competitive local industry
conditions and represents for American industry an attractive market . With the opening
the Mexican electricity market, grow business opportunities in this area for American
companies.

and will be operational the first quarter of 2015
PROYECTO ENERGÍA SIERRA JUÁREZ
It is located in the ejido Jacume ,
municipality of Tecate Baja California.
This farm consists of 47 wind turbines
with a total capacity of 155 MW
power generation .
August 19, its been formalized the
opening of the park in the presence
of the Governor of the state Francisco
" Kiko" Vega and secretaries of SENER
Pedro Joaquin Coldwell and the
