Mission
To provide a full spectrum logistics,
transportation, and on-site incident
support organization that supports
the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) Centers, Institutes,
and Offices during emergency
response activities and COOP
activations. Acts as the Logistics and
Administration/Finance functions of
the Incident Command System (ICS)
during internal and external
emergency events.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage property accountability for the Operations Division
• Provide logistics planning support during emergency responses,
to include COOP events
• Procure and manage supplies in response to emergency
deployment operations and COOP events
• Coordinate CDC equipment and personnel transportation
• Coordinate and track specimen, supply, and equipment
shipments
• Coordinate all CDC medical evacuation missions
• Procure, maintain, and manage emergency deployment
equipment for the CDC
• Provide deployment support for CDC personnel
responding to emergency deployments

Duties and Responsibilities
• Emergency travel resource coordination 24/7/365
• Troubleshoot travel issues for all CDC emergency travel 24/7/365
• Process travel vouchers for all CDC emergency travel
• Plans, develops, and conducts analysis concerning all aspects of
current and projected operating programs for actual or potential
effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives.
• Develops, maintains, and monitors emergency response activities as
assigned by the Logistics Team Lead.
• Conducts program surveys, audits, projects, and provides
advisory services on issues related to LST programs.
• Provide assistance in the development of procedures,
methods and strategies of obtaining and using data
which describes the effectiveness of the many diverse
programs in the LST.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Receive, stage, onward move, and integrate (RSOI) CDC responders at
the incident and establish a “base of operations.”
• Coordinate logistics and administration requirements at the incident site.
• Establish and operate reach-back communications equipment and
provide information technology capabilities to transfer data.
• Coordinate transportation of biological and hazardous specimens and
samples.

Coordinates with PGO to ensure contracts are in place to rapidly respond to
request for supply and equipment assistance from foreign countries and U.S.
territories.
Works with medical supply and equipment vendors and manufacturers to ensure
they understand our requirements and are able to rapidly respond to meet our
needs.
Coordinates with FMO/PGO/HHS to determine a funding source to support the
request and ensures these elements are kept informed of support costs.
Coordinates transportation of requested supplies and equipment and tracks the
shipment all the way to destination.
Coordinates the trans-shipment of supplies and equipment
that are shipped to the CDC warehouse prior to going to their
final destination.
Manages the ship short items and other items that did not
make the initial shipments.
