TOURISM
The word
-TOURISM comes from the Greek word
TORNOS which means a circular
move around a central point or
axis
-TOURIST –
17th century the word ‘tourist’
related to the young aristocratic
people who left for Italy or France
to continue studying
FIRST TRAVELS
Ancient times
 First travels appeared in the Ancient Egypt.
People travelled to take part in religious
celebrations or to admire huge pyramids
ANCIENT TIMES
Also religion was the reason why the Greek
travelled. Their destinations were the oracle of
Delphi or The Temple of Olympian Zeus in Athens.
ANCIENT TIMES
 The situation in Rome was totally different. Developed roads inns helped
people travel. Theor safety was regulated by the law. They travelled because
of medical reasons as well as leisure. The most popular resorts wereBadenBaden, Nepal, Vichy
