NAPPS Preventive Maintenance
Program Goals and Objectives
• Maintain all HVAC/R equipment at peak physical and
operational condition to:
o Minimize unexpected and lengthy down time
o Keep equipment operating at highest potential
efficiency
• Identify service and maintenance issues in advance of
failure
• Identify equipment replacement needs for reliability
and/or economic reasons
• Measure and log HVAC/R equipment operating
conditions

• Maintain HVAC/R equipment maintenance and repair
records
• Identify and number all HVAC/R equipment described in
scope of work
• Communicate with Your Company’s representative
through
o Open and timely dialog relating to ongoing HVAC/R
equipment maintenance and repair work.
o Monthly and quarterly reporting including a
presentation of program status and accomplishments

• During Preventative Maintenance activity, Your
Company’s representative will be notified of any
malfunctions that are identified and a Repair Work Order
will be initiated if authorized.
• Practices for inspection and maintenance meets or
exceeds ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180-2008.
