Bluetooth SIG Overview
• Bluetooth SIG is a not-for-profit Trade
Association, having more than 2000 member
companies, which has open membership
• The SIG values the critical review the IEEE
provides and has incorporated the vast
majority of approved comments from
802.15.1 process
• International Standard status provides
benefits to both the Standards community
and the SIG
• Version 1.1 (v1.1) has not updated since Feb
2001.

Working With the SIG
1) No new features are allowed to be proposed for v1.2.
2) No changes to v1.2 text shall be allowed that damage
compatibility with v1.1.
3) All comments lodged by IEEE members shall be entered into the
SIG's Errata system by a SIG coordinator, and that coordinator
will relay the feedback to the originator in the IEEE.
4) The SIG will be open to inputs from the IEEE and any
suggestions for improvements that are objected to shall have
substantial technical reasons for the objection
5) At the end of the process, all IEEE comments shall be addressed
and all comments accepted by the IEEE WG shall be
incorporated either into the Draft or subsequent Errata.
