1.1 Measures taken to pool resources :
 K.V.K, Venkataramannagudem (650 samples) & RARS Maruteru (1332)(
Micro Nutrients.. zinc, Gypsum , Iron )
have been involved in soil
analysis for timely distribution of analytical reports to farming
community early in season
1.2 Strengthening equipment test micro nutrients:
 Mobile Soil Testing Lab has been allotted to the District through
which analysis of micro nutrients is being taken up. Boron
equipment has been placed for all to 3 labs working in the district.
SOIL ANALYSIS IN MOBILE VAN
1.3 Steps to deploy trained soil scientist fill up
vacancies in
labs:
 Regularly mandal Agril. Officers are being deputed to AMC labs where
there is no sanctioned strength for timely analysis of samples .
1.4 Measures taken to complete sample analysis in time:
 Deploying field functionaries like MAOs, AEOs & MPEOs.
 Imparting Training in analysis before soil sample collection.
 Utilizing the services of these deployed personnel
 Allocating some soil samples to KVKs & ARS for analysis
1.5 Involvement of farmer by informing schedule of sample
collection:
 Soil sample have been collected with G.P. S coordinates and since the
schedule of soil sample collection was well advertised farmers have
voluntarily associated themselves in collection of soil samples.
1.6 Campaign for sample collection / distribution and
educating farmers
Targets of soil sample collection is prepared and communicated to
field functionaries in month of December/January
 Schedule of soil sample collection has been prepared well in advance
by the extension staff.
 Scheduled communicated to farmers through blackboards located in each
village, in gram sabhas, through Polam Pilustondi Programme in a
campaign mode.
 Farmers have been educated about nutrient status of soils and quantity
of nutrients to be applied to the soils.
 Soils Health cards have been distributed in Polam Pilustundi Programme,
even in places like temples where farmers usually gather in evenings and to
farmers available in field itself.
SOIL HEALTH CARD DISTRIBUTION
1.7. Awareness on soil health
celebration of world soil day.
 World soil day was celebrated
management
in 3 villages
&
in the district on
December 5 by the Departmental staff
 Farmers have attended to this programme and literature has been
supplied to the farmers besides educating them on the need to conserve
soil and to reduce pollution and to reduce cost of cultivation.
 KVK Undi and KVK Venkartramannagudem also celebrated World Soil
Day on Dec 5th wherein
Members of Parliament
participated and addressed the gathering.
of the district

1.8 Innovative measures:
 165 GPS Devices have been distributed for
identification of grids for soil sampling
collection and to locate latitude & longitude of
the holdings
 Android App developed for Field visits
1.9 OUTCOME OF THE SCHEME:
 Farmers are resorting to judicious use of fertilizers and micronutrients
and could save on the cost of fertilizers on different crops to the tune of
2000-3000 per Acre during Rabi
 Farmers are well versed with the reading and adoption of soil health
recommendation
 Usage of fertilizers has been reduced
compared with
during the season Kharif 2015
Kharif 2014 in terms of urea and complex fertilizers
usage.
 Maps for the villages are being prepared with the available analytical
data
 In spite of Heavy Rains During Nov’2015 Good Yields of paddy & other
crops have been reaped.

/Institutions for achieving scheme goals:
 Supply of micronut rients through INM scheme on subsidy to farmers to
improve crop production and productivity
 Constant campaign through Polampilustondi on advantages of
adopting soil test recommendation given in SHC
 Regular visits of extension personnel with farmers and enlisting the
requirements in farmer field books and arranging supplies as per the
demand
2.3 Making public delivery systems efficient and corruption
free
 AP MARKFED has been made agency for Supply of fertilizers to
PACS and APAGROS has been made agency for supply of micronut
rients in the district .
 Arrangements have been made to supply fertilizers and
micronutrients through PACS in the district where farmers are the
share holders.
 Paddy purchasing centres have been linked with PACS which
facilitated PACS to be viable and without running short of capital for
supply the critical inputs to the farming community
