Main events towards fielding

1st version Dec 2008 FST Sep 2009 STI-1 Sep 2011 FST BU1 Mar 2013 STI-2 Jun/Dec 2013 STII STIII Apr 2014 June 2014 PSWA 2 nd version (BU1) • • 1st version was successfully tested in Factory (Factory System Test) in 2008 and in live environment [System Test I-1 (STI-1) at System Test and Validation Facility (STVF) located in the NPC] in 2009.

Major change integrated in the contract in 2007: Block Upgrade 1 (BU1) (mainly in CAOC functionalities changes) – ACCS BU1 was successfully tested in factory in September 2011 and in live environment System Test I-2 at STVF completed in March 2013 (with test under simulated peak load conditions) – Following test performed & completed in 2 Validation Nations (BE, GE) and on-going in the two remaining ones (FR & IT) – Final tests performed in multi-site configuration: System Test III Up to Provisional Software Acceptance forecasted mid 2014 3 NATO UNCLASSIFIED

In Service Support

Jul 2013 FCSE Oct 2011 Spiral1 Award Spiral 2

1. Operational requirements evolve:

– Operational needs regularly expressed by SHAPE (roadmap towards ACCS IOC) like JTS interface, JCHAT capability – Initial Operational Tests & Evaluations (IOT&E) after each live environment System Tests on site bring potential new requests 1 st IOT&E STI-1 in 2009 revealed shortfalls => improvements in Air Mission Control, workflow & HMI grouped in a Spiral 1 enhancement.

Spiral 1 awarded in October 2011 successfully tested in factory in Jul 2013 will be merged with BU1 for final test STIII up-front PSWA • • Work under preparation to introduce JTS interface and JCHAT capability towards ACCS IOC Potentially Shortfalls from future IOT&Es (STI-2, STII & STIII) might also lead to additional Spirals 4 NATO UNCLASSIFIED

Main events towards fielding Technical Evolution

Sep 2009 STI-1 FB Mar 2013 STI-2 BU1 Jun 14 PSWA BU1

In Service Support

Jul 2013 FCSE Oct 2011 Spiral1 Award Technical evolutions • • •

2. Meanwhile technology is also evolving

Communication means: from point to point connectivity to networked connectivity (significant communications expenses savings) => NATO General Segment System (NGCS) NATO secure communication network contracted mid 2012.

Communication standard protocol: commercial world evolving towards so-called Everything over the Internet => contracted mid 2012. Radar Network connection (RADNET) contracted by mid 2012.

Those technical evolutions will be integrated within the appropriate timeline (before PSWA or during In Service Support through replication contract activities). NATO UNCLASSIFIED

ACCS LOC1 Test Process Test &Evaluation DT&E IOT&E

Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E)

• DT&E verifies that the system performs as required in its intended environment • DT&E is conducted by ACSI and its Subcontractors / Partners 6 NATO UNCLASSIFIED •

Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (IOT&E)

• IOT&E evaluates that the system is operationally effective and suitable • IOT&E is conducted by AirC2PO&S with Contractor support
