Come backstage for a brief history of how it all began for Styx

Styx is a rock band that has played for many years. The band has had four record labels, Wooden Nickels, A&M, Interscope, Sanctuary, and CMC International. Styx started in 1970 and has continued to play with new members, once old ones left the band. Styx’s two most popular albums are The Grand Illusion album(1977), and the Pieces of Eight album(1978).

Biography of Tommy Shaw

Tommy Roland Shaw was born September 11, 1953. Tommy currently lives in Montgomery, Alabama. Tommy is a guitar, and mandolin player, plus vocals. Tommy has been in many bands besides Styx, and has had several solo albums throughout his career. One special interest of Tommy’s is that he is fascinated with the Sea of Tranquility on the moon. In several songs he mentions something about it.
