He3 and/or electron rich events
Question:
What is the underlying acceleration mechanism in impulsive
SEP events now that observations show electron He3 and
Ultra heavy ions are greatly enhanced in these events?
Answer:
We still do not know, but a full-day session next year may help.

From observations:
1. Enhancement of He3/He4 ~10^4.
2. different spectrum of He3
3. Heavy ions and UH enhancement.
4. Source of acceleration
5. Timing constraint.

Both can explain selective acceleration of 3He, work for ions to some extends.
stochastic acceleration accelerate electrons simultaneous with ions.
Oblique EMIC waves are stimulated by electron beams shooting down.

Dialogue from participants:
Ilan: more data is needed to better understand these impulsive SEP events.
Allan: No. It is not data what we need, but theory!
New classification of SEP events: (H. Cane)
SEP events are complex. The major determining factors are the amount of
magnetic energy, the topology of the magnetic field surrounding the
flare/CME, and the magnetic connection of the observer.
