A troubling trend is the rapid proliferation of
VCRs and DVDs and the expansion of cable
television and movie channels. This has
increased the amount of programming
available for young people to see and has
blurred the distinction between television and
movie programming.
It has also made the viewing of
extremely violent and sexuallyexplicit movies accessible for
millions of youth right in their own
homes, often in their bedrooms
because so many have their own TV
sets.
