What are input devices?

 Any hardware component that allows users to enter data or instructions into a computer

Input devices

       Keyboard Mouse Stylus Digital Pen Microphone Digital camera Scanner

Keyboard

   Input device that contains keys users press to enter data into the computer 101 – 105 keys Includes letters, numbers, punctuation marks, commands, toggle keys, and function keys

Pointing Devices

 An input device that allows a user to control a pointer on the screen  Pointer – a small symbol on the screen whose location and shape change as a user moves a pointing device  Select text and graphics; move insertion point; click buttons, icons, links, and menu commands

Stylus and Digital Pen

 Looks like an ink pen but uses pressure to write text and draw lines  Originally called an electronic pen  Some have electronic erasers and programmable buttons
