 Defines current service provided to military/authorized users
 DoD commitments for the PPS SIS



Standard Positioning Service (SPS) PS -- published Oct 2001:
 Defines service provided to non-military GPS users
 Defines current DoD commitments for the SPS SIS



SPS PS is basis for all civil GPS safety certifications

Example: SPS use in IFR navigation by civil aviation
