• Via the plug-in the AdTicket metadata can be
extracted as a «basic AdTicket»
• Some fields need to be filled in (Job-Info fields)

AdTicket fields
• Job info:
– These fields have to be filled in mandatory in
the Acrobat plug-in.
Medibel+ has defined these mandatory fields.
They contain the minimum info (e.g. contact
person, first publication date, …)
• Extra info:
– These fields contain EXTRA information and
are not mandatory (e.g. remarks, format, …)

On 28 april 2006 the “GWG Job Ticket
Subcommittee” of the Ghent PDF Workgroup
decided to introduce Medibel+ AdTicket as their
standard.

“The GWG AdTicket was successfully developed
with active collaboration and technical support
from GWG member, Medibel+, the organization
that unites the Belgian advertising sector.
The GWG AdTicket is an extension of existing
Medibel+ AdTicket, conforming 100% with
Medibel+ ad content”.
“We’ve taken the concepts for Medibel+ job ticket
and we matched to AdsML job ticket, creating a
truly open format that can be shared and used by
as many users globally as possible,” explains

Medibel+ is involved in the AdsML XMP
jobticket work group via de Ghent PDF
Workgroup (GWG).
The “GWG AdTicket” and the “AdsML AdTicket”
created two different AdTickets which are
compatible with each other.

AdsML has developed an AdTicket via the Adobe
XMP technology. Data can be embedded in a PDF
file via custom panels.

GWG & Medibel+ have developed a GWG AdTicket
which complies with the AdsML AdTicket.
The GWG AdTicket uses the AdsML name space and
works via custom panels.

• Advantages:
- works for PC and MAC
- works in all Adobe Creative Suite packs
- free to download (http://www.gwg.org, http://www.medibelplus.be)
• Disadvantages:
- no check on the mandatory fields cf the Acrobat
plug-in, all mandatory fields need to be filled in.

Media Agencies in the delivery note project
• Today Media Agencies send a delivery note via
email, in PDF format, to the creative agencies.
• Via the delivery note project media agencies
may send delivery notes in an XML format to
the receiver.

Need to start up the delivery note project
Media agencies: delivery note XML files can be generated via an
XSD scheme.
Creative agencies: installation java applet (www.medibelplus.be/java-applet)
• Java applet works on PC and MAC
• Delivery note XML file can be checked
• Delivery note XML file can be printed
• Delivery note XML file can be imported in an AdTicket
• AdTicket can be edited
• AdTicket can be saved
 The delivery note XML files can be processed in batch-mode
 During the start-up of the java applet, the application will check
the version number. The automatic software updating happens
via this check

• Media agency sends a delivery note XML file to
the creative agency via email.
• Creative agency completes the conversion from
“delivery note to AdTicket” via a java applet.
• Creative agency encloses the AdTicket into the
PDF file via the plug-in.
• Publisher extracts the AdTicket data out of the
PDF via the XMP Extract Server.
