Date/Time/Duration
• Pick Date:
(In Spring, Not on a Holiday – Steve says
he will not give us leave, and children would be in
Suggest Saturday, May 10.
• Time: 11AM
• Duration 10:30AM-4:30PM
• Or May 3 with May 10 rain date
School, etc.)
Venue
• Old Calvert Rd/Paint Branch Park (Close to new NCEP
building, and Frisbe golf park next door as well as airport across from river,
tennis court. Small (tiny) pavilion, small old Grill, Portapotty, Swings. Free!
But first come, first serve. (Visited here and it is clean/nice, will hold ~100,
but will need more than the Grill for cooking as well as some extra chairs,
tables, blankets to sit on as there are 4 picnic tables in small pavilion.) – A
Hardhat Tour of new NCEP building will be given!
• Fletcher’s Park
(or other PG park Pavilions can be rented for min
$200 for PG residents, (see sheet) with bathrooms, a full baseball field but
not part of the rental (Parks & Planning says 100 people) but not yet visited
at this time. (No electricity at any MD pavilions/parks)
• NASA Beaver Dam Baseball fields (Private fenced
complex of many baseball fields, small Pavilion with ample picnic
tables/bench, many portapotties. Rent for $100. No restrictions and

Costs/Budget
• No Budget (Steve/Mike “No tango dinero”)
• Needs: $75.- 100. (setups see slide) plus cost of Venue, if any, so
far we have a dozen families, but I expect/predict 25 families,
therefore $3 + $3.
• For Free Calvert Park we could charge $3 for Setups
and $12. encouragement for those who do not want to
potluck – I would buy some platters from Nicks Market
for those.
• For Fletcher or other PG Park add (min) $200
and if 25 (50) families show then add $8.00 ($4.00) to
everything above.
• NASA Beaver Dam Baseball fields: $75. - $100
• (see Setups, next slide)
Pot Luck and Setups
• Parks and Rec says no Alcohol at any PG parks.
• With a small budget as described we could have
some folks bring cooler(s) and buy Ice, to keep
drinks cold., paper plates, fork/knife/cups/napkins
etc..
• Some purchases for condiments, drinks… see
later slide….
• Charcoal – the Grill is about 3’ by 1’? Will need
volunteers to bring enough grill to keep food
warm and cook (Can not count on power for
hotplates).
• Need some tables and chairs to serve dishes and
enough for folks to sit and eat.
Entertainment and Cleanup
• There is no electricity at Paint Branch so
acoustic instruments if so inclined.
• NASA fields have electricity.
• Cleanup Volunteers (Jeff McQueen, Alpert,
….
• Signs, Flags, Announcements (Lorrie is
checking in directors office).
