Blow it out of Proportion

S Kendall

Analysis

 This was an advertisement from Wrigleys Bubble gum entitled

Blow it Out of Proportion,

which was released in 2006.

Ethos

 This image appeals to ethos in that it uses a credibly company, Wriglys. There is a pack of Hubba Bubba gum which is a major bubble gum company

Logos

 Here is very little logos with this image. Taller kid sitting beside him shows some counterargument, but not much.

Pathos

 This image appeals to you emotions as well. It gives you the idea that by chewing Hubba Bubba you could play in front of thousands of fans, and dunk a basketball.

Balance

 The image is balanced to a certain degree. It has a taller kid on the left, and an extra building on the right to balance each other out.

Colors

 By making “the dream” of dunking in red it stands out around all of the green. It also makes the gum package stand out in the corner more so than it would if it was blue or green.

Words

 The words in this image tell the whole story. If the words were OMIT then you would not know why this kid is having this dream and it does not advertise anything.

Citations

 Bar, Guy.
