hunting before the opera begins.
Call to adventure
Prince Tamino fights the dragon.
Tamino faints when he runs out of
arrows.
Three Magic Ladies rescue him.
The Queen of the Night asks him to
find her kidnapped daughter.
Crossing the Threshhold
Tamino agrees to find Princess Pamina.
Gains Companions:

Papageno, the
bird catcher,
joins the search
for Princess
Pamina.
Weapons
Prince Tamino gets the magic flute
from the Three Magic Ladies.
Papageno gets magic bells.
Gains a Wise Helper
Sarastro turns out to
be wise and good, not
evil as the Queen of
the Night said.
Multiple Conflicts
Tamino and Pamina must go through
several trials to show they love each
other.
Papageno must also prove he is worthy
of Papagena.
Final Battle
Tamino and Pamina must go through
fire and water to prove they are strong
enough to be together.
Triumph
Success!
Tamino and Pamina are united.
Papageno has his Papagena.
