Why a EU approach?

The Swedish Research Links Program offers International Collaborative Research
Grants, aiming to support research cooperation between Swedish scientists and
scientists within selected low-income to middle-income countries.
Eligible countries 2012
Sweden and the following countries:
Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Rep. Laos,
Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Viet
Nam

Who may apply?
Applicants for International Collaborative Research Grants are
individual researchers who also serve as project leaders and

have the scientific responsibility for the project. The application  Research links
must include at least two principal researchers: one affiliated to
a university or research institution in Sweden and one affiliated
to a university or research institution in a program country.
Grant period
International Collaborative Research Grants are awarded for a
maximum of three years.
Costs and grant amount
The grant can be used to cover costs related to the international collaboration, such as
research visits between the partners, seminars, workshops and joint publishing.
The maximum amount for an International Collaborative Research Grant is SEK 250,000
(somewhat less than 25,000 EUR) per year, including indirect costs.

Evaluators will consider:
The degree to which the applicants have been able to describe
their proposed collaboration and the likelihood of its being
successful and continuing beyond the grant period.
The value of the research to equitable and sustainable
development of society and/or to poverty reduction.
The level of balance and mutuality between the partners
based on the scientific merits of the co-applicants.

EGU session "Hydrological and hydrochemical
monitoring for water resources management in
continental areas“ – 07 Apr 2013 - 12 Apr 2013
Water-related problems are particularly challenging in continental areas, and are thus
receiving increasing attention of the international community. Because of growing
population and increasing evapotranspiration, the per capita water availability tends
to shrink.
This session seeks contributions on recent advances in science as well as in practical
applications, including:
- recent data from hydrological and hydrochemical monitoring in river basins located in
continental and transboundary regions (e.g., Central Asia, Africa, Central Europe) with
special emphasis on water resources assessments under changing climatic and social
conditions, pollution loads and its spreading from source to recipient;
- the environmental and socio-economic impacts of water-related problems and
management responses;
- case studies of transboundary water resources management and monitoring
