The Laws of Jealousy
Numbers Chapter 5 is a
teaching about the
reconciliation between the
Bride and the Groom
Numbers 5:12-18
12 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say
to them: 'If any man's wife goes astray and
behaves unfaithfully toward him,
13 and a man lies with her carnally, and it
is hidden from the eyes of her husband,
and it is concealed that she has defiled
herself, and there was no witness against
her, nor was she caught--
14 'if the spirit of jealousy comes
upon him and he becomes jealous
of his wife, who has defiled
herself; or if the spirit of jealousy
comes upon him and he becomes
jealous of his wife, although she
has not defiled herself--

meal; he shall pour no oil on it and put no
frankincense on it, because it is a grain
offering of jealousy, an offering for
remembering, for bringing iniquity to
remembrance.

grain offering of jealousy. And the
Cohen shall have in his hand the
BITTER WATER THAT BRINGS A
CURSE.

19 And the Cohen shall put her
under oath, and say to the woman,
"If no man has lain with you, and if
you have not gone astray to
uncleanness while under your
husband's authority, be free from
this bitter water that brings a curse.
20"But if you have gone astray while
under your husband's authority, and
if you have defiled yourself and some
man other than your husband has lain
with you"-21 'then the Cohen shall put the woman
under the oath of the curse, and he shall
say to the woman--" The LORD make you
a curse and an oath among your people,
when The LORD make your thigh rot and
your belly swell;

Numbers 5:23
23 Then the Cohen shall WRITE THESE
CURSES IN A BOOK, and he shall scrape
them off INTO THE BITTER WATER.
24 And he shall make the woman drink the
bitter water that brings a curse, and the
water that brings the curse shall enter her
to become bitter.
25 Then the Cohen shall take the grain
offering of jealousy from the woman's
hand, shall wave the offering before
YHVH, and bring it to the altar;

The cohen is to take a handful
of the grain offering as its
reminder portion and make it
go up in smoke on the altar;
afterwards, he is to make the
woman drink the water.
27 When he has made her drink the
water, then, if she is unclean and
has been unfaithful to her husband,
the water that causes the curse will
enter her and become bitter, so
that her abdomen swells and her
private parts shrivel up; and the
woman will become an object of
cursing among her people.
Exodus 32:26
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and
said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come
unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered
themselves together unto him.
27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD
God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his
side, and go in and out from gate to gate
throughout the camp, and slay every man his
brother, and every man his companion, and every
man his neighbour.
28 And the children of Levi
did according to the word of
Moses: and there fell of the
people that day about three
thousand men.

Just as the adulterous woman in
Israel would have to drink of the
filthiness of her fornication,
symbolized by the curses being
washed from the paper into the
cup, so too will Babylon the Great
have to drink up her sins of
spiritual adultery.
Jeremiah 25:15-17
15 For thus says YHVH God of Israel to
me: "Take this WINE CUP OF FURY from
My hand, and cause all the nations, to
whom I send you, to drink it.
16 "And they will drink and stagger and go
mad because of the sword that I will send
among them."
17 Then I took the CUP from YHVH 's hand,
and made all the nations drink, to whom
YHVH had sent me:

who is raised from the dead that we should bring
forth fruit unto God.
