Results of Peanut Hull Carrier Evaluation The formulations of Cyfluthrin, β-cyfluthrin & lambda cyhalothrin on ammonium sulfate, or bifenthrin on fertilizer, were the most effective formulations in these screening trials. All of the active ingredients when put on peanut hulls provided poor control, 18-53% control.

There was a 46-82% reduction in control when peanut hulls are used as carrier as compared to ammonium sulfate or fertilizer.

Take Home Message

• Not all turf insect control granule formulations are alike! • • • • Pyrethroids do not work effectively on peanut hull granules.
