• The cross is the central symbol of Christianity. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross and three days later rose from the dead. The cross is a symbol of victory over death, promising eternal life.

True meaning

• Christianity is the second oldest to Judaism. Afterwards, is Islam.

• The term Christians, means “Christ-like”.

Book

• Their Holy Book is called The Bible.

– Has two parts: Old and New Testament – The Holy Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. Now, it is translated into many languages of the world.

Beliefs

• Believe in one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (called Adonai.) • Idea of God is called Trinity: Father, Son, Holy Spirit

Practices

• Worship Service: – Christians come together as the Church.

• – Led by Pastors or Priests Baptism is an outward declaration of faith in Jesus Christ.

• They also participate in Holy Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper.

• • Bethlehem is the birthplace of Jesus Christ.

Jerusalem is the place that Jesus died and rose again.

After Death

• • The focus of Christianity is righteousness through Jesus Christ so that Christians will spend eternity with Him in Heaven. • Without the salvation of Jesus Christ, there is hell. Christians believe that Jesus will come again to the Earth one day.

• • After Jesus’ death and resurrection, the disciples preached that Jesus is the Messiah and persecution began and continues until today.

Until 312 A.D., Romans were polytheists. After Constantine accepted Christianity, it became more acceptable and the religion began to spread.
