Presentation To ATIF
24-25 MAY, 2006, Muscat
We are glad to be given the opportunity to give you an update
about Arabsat activities.
 Even though it is an IGO, ARABSAT decided to run as a
company on a commercial basis.
 Accordingly, ARABSAT’s management has now an extensive
latitude to make all commercial decisions required for being the
most competitive player.
 We are essentially concerned by dealing with market forces like
competition, new technologies and, moreover, SATISFYING
CUSTOMERS’ NEEDS.
 We are committed to turning ARABSAT into the most pro-active,
and preferred, competitor in the region.
2
► Our Region's Market Trends (1)
 The MENA is admittedly among the world’s
fastest growing satellite services' markets:
+4% / year. (Euroconsult, Sep-05)
 Broadcast represents about 2/3rds of
industry revenues.
 Contrary to what was anticipated a few
years ago, forecasts now show that
Broadcast will remain the key growth driver.
* Euroconsult, Frost & Sullivan, Arab Advisors Group, IDC.
