Verbs
A verb expresses an:
 action,
a
condition, or
 a state of
being.
 The
two main
types of verbs
are
 action verbs
and
 linking verbs
Action Verbs
 An
action verb expresses action.
The action may be physical or
mental.

Linking Verbs
 A linking
verb links the subject of a
sentence to some word in the

Prepositional Phrases
 A Prepositional
Phrase consists of
a preposition, the object of the
preposition, and any modifiers of
the object found between. The
object of a preposition is the noun
or pronoun that follows the
preposition.
