The Story of
St. Patrick
This is the story of a happy
boy...
 His name is Patrick.
 When Patrick was a boy, he
lived on a big island
One day...
 Patrick heard voices in the wind.
 The voices came across the sea
from Ireland.
 The voices said:
‘Come Patrick, come.
Come and show us a
better life.’
Back then the people in
Ireland were pagans
 They liked fighting and they liked
war.
 They could not read or write.
One day, Patrick...
 ...Was listening to the voices when a
big boat came.
 Very bad
 They came
from
Ireland
men and
cruel men
jumped from
the boat.
 They
captured
Patrick
and tied
They put him in the boat and
they sailed to Ireland
In Ireland, Patrick worked for
Milchu
 Milchu was bad. He said to Patrick:
 ‘Mind my sheep and my pigs. There,
on that mountain.’
 And he left Patrick
alone on the
mountain with the
sheep and the pigs
Patrick was cold and hungry
 Patrick was also afraid of the snakes
that crawled all over the mountqin.
Patrick stayed on the
mountain...
 …with the sheep and the pigs a long
long time.
 He was cold, hungry and afraid.
 Every night and
every day, He
prayed that God
would help him
escape.
One night...
 Patrick was sleeping. He heard the
voice.
 The voice told him to go to the sea.
Patrick went to the sea and...
 ...he saw a
boat.
 He climbed
on board
and hid
under a
sack.
The boat landed near patrick’s
home
 His mother and father were very
happy to see Patrick home.
Patrick started to study...
 ...to be a bishop because he had
promised it to God.
 One day, he heard the voices again
in a dream.
The voices asked Patrick to go
back to Ireland
 ‘Come back Patrick. Come back to
Ireland. Show us a better life.’
 Patrick was
not afraid
anymore.
He went back to Ireland
 In Ireland, Patrick sent the snakes to
the sea.
 He helped the
people to live
a better life.
He picked up a shamrock
 And he showed people that The
Father, The Son, and The Holy
Ghost could be in one (The Trinity).
Now, every year on the 17th of
march...
 ...on the anniversary of his death,
people all over the world celebrate
St. Patrick’s Day.
There are parades, and parties
and everybody dresses in green
and people wear shamrocks
Happy
St. Patrick’s day!
