New Policies
sunapsis® Release Policy
• Scope
– sunapsis® end-users and technical contacts both
at client institutions as well as Indiana University
are affected by this policy.
• Reason for Policy
– This policy sets a standard for new releases to
include a high level of transparency for sunapsis®
users as well as a sustainable workflow for the UAOIS.
sunapsis® Release Policy Statement
The UA-OIS will regularly release tested and documented upgrades of
sunapsis® to clients. Indiana University end-users will be notified of
upgrades to the system prior to new features and enhancements being
moved to production and will be the initial test group for a new
release. Primary communication to external clients of new features
and enhancements included in an upcoming release will be during our
annual user’s conference where an early-adopters group will be
formed to test a beta version prior to sending a final release to all
client institutions. Release schedules will only be interrupted when a
change is required as the result of a change in federal regulation.
Ongoing communication about timeframes, features, and
enhancements in regards to a release, both internally at IU and
externally to client schools, will be managed by the sunapsis® Business
Manager.

sunapsis® End-of-life Policy
• Scope
– sunapsis® end-users and technical contacts both at
client institutions as well as Indiana University are
affected by this policy.
• Reason for Policy
– The development of sunapsis® is continually evolving.
These innovations mean that UA-OIS periodically
transitions away from distributing or servicing certain
versions of sunapsis®.
sunapsis® End-of-life Policy Statement
This policy outlines how the UA-OIS handles
support for versions of sunapsis® that have
been discontinued. The UA-OIS will issue an
end-of-life notice two fiscal years before
support of a particular version of sunapsis® is
discontinued.
