Important Safeguards and Warning
• Do not place heavy objects on the DVR set.
• Clean the product with a moist cloth. Do not use any chemical liquids or oil.
• Do not disassemble or repair the DVR set yourself. Do not replace the
components yourself.
• Keep the DVR set away from heat sources.
• When installing an internal hard drive, make sure all data has been
backed-up. The DVR set automatically formats the internal hard disk to
the right read/write format.
Environment
• Please place and use the DVR set between 0°C and 40°C. Avoid direct
sunlight.
• Do not install the DVR set in a damp environment.
• Do not use the DVR set in a smoky or dusty environment. Make sure there
is ventilation and keep the vent clean.
• Make sure the DVR set is installed in a place where it cannot fall or break.

1. Product overview
This DVR set is designed for security and monitoring purposes. It uses an
embedded LINUX operating system that provides a stable performance. The
H.264 MP video compression format and G.711A audio compression format
ensure high quality images, low error coding ratios and single frame playing.
This DVR set uses TCP/IP network technology in order to achieve reliable and
stable communication. The DVR set can be used individually or as part of a
safety surveillance network. Front panel

2. User instructions
2.1 Power on
Connect the power splitter to the 12V DC port of the DVR set. Attach the red
cables of the extension cords to the splitter and attach the yellow cables
marked “To DVR side only” to port V1 – V4 of the DVR set. Attach the red
and yellow cables of the cameras to the extension cables. Attach the power
splitter to the power supply cable and plug it into a power supply socket. The
power supply indicator on the front panel will light up to indicate that the DVR
set is receiving power. After the startup a beep can be heard, which indicates
the DVR set is in operation.
2.2 Power off
In order to switch off the DVR set, go to the main menu and choose “Logout”
and “Shutdown”. The DVR set can now be safely powered off by disconnecting
the power supply cable.

2.3 System Login
There are two pre-installed user accounts. There is no preconfigured
password for any of the users. It is strongly recommended to modify the
password to protect unauthorized users from accessing the system.
- Admin: Administrator account with full permission. Use this login to
manage the permissions of other user accounts.
- Default: Note that the password for this user cannot be changed.
Note: It is possible to add, delete or modify user accounts.
Password protection: After three failed password attempts, an alarm will
be activated. Five failed password attempts will result in a blocked user
account. A cooling-down period of 30 minutes will start after the fifth failed
password attempt. After the cooling-down period a sixth attempt or a manual
reboot is necessary to unlock the user account.
2.4 Preview
In preview mode, right click the mouse to switch between the multiple
viewing windows. The system date, time and channel name are shown in each
viewing window.

3.1. Main menu - Record
3.1.1
Record Config.
Set the recording parameters for each surveillance channel. Note: At least
one internal read-write HDD is required in order to record.

• Channel: Select the camera to configure its recording parameters
• Redundancy: Choose the redundancy function to enable the recording
redundancy backup. Note: This requires a second HDD that is set as
redundant disk. See Advanced - Storage
• Length: Choose the length of each part of the recording in minutes
• Mode: Set the mode to record according to schedule, select Manual to
start recording immediately, or select Stop to stop recording.
• Week: Set the recording schedule for a specific day
• Period: Set up to 4 specific periods of the day the camera should record
3.1.2Playback
This interface allows playback of recordings through basic media player
buttons. A specific date and time can be selected from the menu on the right.
It is also possible to copy or paste the video to your (external) hard disk.

3.1.3Backup
This menu allows detection of storage devices (USB-drive or hard disk). The
following options are available:

3.2.1
Motion Detect
• Channel: Select the camera to configure its motion detection parameters.
Enable motion detection by selecting the checkbox
• Sensitivity: Set the sensitivity level of the motion detection

should be enabled. Red boxes are enabled, blank boxes are disabled

Video Blind
This menu contains the parameters for detection of blinding one or more
cameras, for example by spray paint or infrared laser beams.
• Channel: Select the camera to configure its video blind parameters.
Enable video blind detection by selecting the checkbox.
• Sensitivity: Set the sensitivity level of the video blind detection
• Period: Set up to 4 specific periods of each day the video blind detection
needs to be active
• Interval: Set the interval between sessions in seconds
• Record Channel: Select which cameras should record when video blind is
detected
• PTZ Activation: Not available for this DVR set
Other checkbox options in the event of video blind detection include the ability
to show an on-screen message, sound a buzzer, send an email, write a log
entry, upload the recording through FTP, or send a mobile report.

3.2.3
Video Loss
This menu contains the parameters for video loss detection.
• Channel: Select the camera to configure its video loss parameters.
Enable video loss detection by selecting the checkbox.
• Period: Set up to 4 specific periods of each day the video loss detection
needs to be active
• Record Channel: Select which cameras should record when video loss is
detected
• PTZ Activation: Not available for this DVR set
Other checkbox options in the event of video loss detection include the ability
to show an on-screen message, sound a buzzer, send an email, write a log
entry, upload the recording through FTP, or send a mobile report.

3.2.4Abnormality
This menu enables notifications in the event of an abnormality, including no
storage device, storage device errors, no space on storage device, network
disconnection, or IP conflicts. Select the checkbox to enable notifications for
each of these events.
Other checkbox options in the event of an abnormality include the ability
to show an on-screen message, sound a buzzer, send an email, or send a
mobile report.

3.3.1General
This menu includes general system settings of the DVR set.

3.3.2Encode
This menu contains the parameters for encoding the video and audio data.

Quality: Select the quality of the video
Bit Rate (Kb/S): Select the bit rate of the video in kilobits per second
I Frame interval: Select the frame interval between frames
Video/Audio: Select the checkbox for audio to enable audio recording

3.3.3Network
This menu contains system network settings in order to set up the network to
which the DVR is connected. The following settings can be configured:
• Net Card: Select the network card
• DHCP Enable: Select to obtain an IP address automatically (not
recommended)
• IP Address: Set the IP address for the DVR set in the network
• Subnet Mask: Set the subnet mask of the network
• Gateway: Set the default gateway of the network
• Primary DNS: Set the primary DNS of the network.
• Secondary DNS: Set the secondary DNS.
• Media Port: Set the media port
• HTTP Port: Set the HTTP port
• HS Download: Enable high speed download
• Transfer Policy: Select a transfer policy
Note: The necessary information can be found in the personal settings of
your router and network. Be sure to match the settings accordingly. Reboot
the DVR set in order to apply changes.

Net Service
This menu contains several options related to your network and Internet
connection.
• PPPoE: Set Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet settings to allow the
DVR to connect to the internet

• NTP: Set information to connect to a Network Time Protocol service
• E-mail: Set personal e-mail settings to allow the DVR to send alarm push
notifications to a personal e-mail account. Look for the SMTP settings of
your e-mail service to fill in the required information

• DDNS: Set information to connect the DVR set to a DDNS service

This menu contains settings to manage the storage devices. Note: These
settings do not apply to USB-Drives!
• Read/write: Set the storage device as a read/write device, which means
the DVR set can write to and read data from this device
• Read only: Set the storage device as a read-only device, which means the

• Redundant: Set the storage device as a redundant device, which means
the DVR can use this device as a backup copy

This menu contains settings to automatically reboot the DVR set.
• Auto-Reboot System: Select the date and time of the automatic rebooting
of the DVR set
• Auto-Delete Old Files: Select what to do with old files on the internal hard
drive
3.4.6Restore
This menu contains the option to reset the DVR set to the factory default. This
can be done by either selecting a certain part of the settings, or by selecting
all checkboxes.

3.4.7Upgrade
This menu contains the option to upgrade the DVR set with a firmware
upgrade stored on a USB or external hard drive.
3.4.8
Device Info
This menu contains information about the DVR set, including the number of
audio in channels, alarm in channels, alarm out channels, the remote control
type, and the pad type.

This menu allows importing and exporting personal settings to another DVR
set.

3.5 Main menu – Info
3.5.1
HDD Info
This menu lists all the SATA hard drive disk storage devices connected to the
DVR set. The columns show the type, total capacity, free capacity, status, and
recording times of each connected SATA HDD.

3.5.2BPS
This panel shows the bitrate for each camera, and lists the corresponding
kilobits per second (Kb/S) and the total megabytes per hour (MB/H) that is
recorded by the DVR set.
3.5.3LOG
This menu provides information on the actions and events that have occurred
with the DVR set. It also allows to search for events and a specific time. For a

better overview it is possible to clear all the LOG entries.
3.5.4Version
This menu shows the current version of the DVR set, and includes
information about the system, build date, MAC address, serial number, and
status.
3.6Logout
This menu allows user to logout, shutdown the DVR set, or reboot the DVR
set.

4. FAQ
4.1Connection
Question:
De PC software indicates “Can’t find the device” when I try to add a device in
the Device Manager.
Answer:
Check if the indicated IP-addres is the same as the IP-address that the router
assigned to the DVR set. You can do this by using “ipconfig”.
Go to the Windows start menu, type “cmd” in the search bar and hit enter. A
command prompt will appear.
When you type “ipconfig” in the command prompt and hit enter, you will a

window similar to the following image:
These numbers should match the data as shown on the DVR set, everything
but the last number of the IP-address; this is the number specifically for your
computer, other devices in the same network will differ on this last part.
If the data does not match, it must be changed manually, directly on the DVR
set itself. Connect a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to the DVR set and go to
“System-> Network” in the menu as shown below:
Here you can change the IP-address, Gateway, and Primary DNS to the
data as given by the ipconfig. Only the last part of the IP-address needs to

be a number not already taken by another device in your network. A higher
number like 88 is usually available. The rest of the data should match exactly.
After saving the changes, you should be able to reach the DVR set from your
computer or any other devices within your network.

Belangrijke veiligheidswaarschuwingen
• Plaats geen zware voorwerpen op de DVR set
• Maar de set schoon met een vochtig doekje, geen chemische vloeistoffen
of olie.
• Demonteer of repareer de DVR set niet zelf, en vervang zelf geen
onderdelen.
• Houd de DVR set uit de buurt van warmtebronnen
• Wanneer u een interne harde schijf installeert, zorg dan dat er van alle
data een back-up is. De DVR set formatteert automatisch de interne harde
schijf naar het juiste bestandsindeling.
Omgeving
• Plaats en gebruik de DVR set tussen 0˚C en 40˚C. Vermijd direct zonlicht.
• Installeer de DVR set niet in een vochtige omgeving.
• Gebruik de DVR set niet in een rokerige of stoffige omgeving. Zorg ervoor
dat er ventilatie is en houd de luchtopeningen vrij.
• Zorg ervoor dat de DVR set op een plek staat waar het niet kan vallen of
breken.

1. Overzicht van product
Deze DVR set is ontwikkeld voor beveiliging en controlerende doeleinden.
Het heeft een geïntegreerde LINUX besturingssysteem dat zorgt voor een
stabiele prestatie. De H.264 MP video compressie en G.711A compressie
streven naar hoge kwaliteit videobeelden, lage frequenties foutmeldingen
en enkel-frame beelden. Deze DVR set gebruikt TCP/IP netwerk
technologie om betrouwbare en stabiele communicatie na te streven. De
DVR set kan zelfstandig gebruikt worden of als onderdeel van een groter
beveiligingsnetwerk.

2. Instructies voor gebruiker
2.1 Aanzetten
Verbind de splitter kabel met de 12V DC aansluiting op de DVR set. Koppel de
rode kabels van het verlengsnoer aan de splitter en koppel de gele kabels
waar ‘To DVR side only’ op staat aan de V1 – V4 aansluiting van de DVR set.
Koppel de rode en de gele kabels van de camera’s aan het verlengsnoer.
Koppel de splitter kabel aan de stroomkabel en stop de stekker in het
stopcontact. Het power indicatie licht aan de voorkant van de DVR set zal
gaan branden als de DVR set stroom ontvangt. Na het opstarten zal er een
toon klinken, wat aangeeft dat de DVR set in werking is.
2.2 Uitzetten
Ga naar het hoofdmenu en kies ‘Logout’ en ‘Afsluiten’ om de DVR set uit te
zetten. De DVR set kan nu veilig worden uitgezet door de stroomkabel te
ontkoppelen.

2.3 Login in het systeem
Er zijn twee geïnstalleerde gebruiker accounts. Er is geen wachtwoord nodig
voor beide accounts. Het is sterk aan te raden om zelf een wachtwoord in te
stellen om ongewilde gebruikers tegen te gaan.
- Admin: Administrator account met volledige bevoegdheden. Gebruik dit
account om de bevoegdheden van de andere accounts in te stellen.
- Default: Let op dat het wachtwoord van deze gebruiker niet veranderd kan
worden.
Let wel: Het is mogelijk om accounts toe te voegen, te verwijderen of te
wijzigen.
Wachtwoord beveiliging: Na drie mislukte pogingen wordt een alarm actief.
Na vijf mislukte pogingen zal het account worden geblokkeerd. Een afkoel

3.1.1
Opname instellingen
Stel de opneem parameters voor elk surveillance kanaal in. Let wel:
minstens één interne lees-schrijf HDD is vereist om op te nemen.

4. FAQ
4.1Connectie
Vraag:
De PC software geeft aan “Can’t find the device” wanneer ik een apparaat
probeer toe te voegen in de Device Manager.
Antwoord:
Controleer of het aangegeven IP-adres overeen komt met het IP-adres dat
uw router heeft toegewezen aan de DVR set. U kunt dit doen aan de hand van
“ipconfig”
Ga hiervoor naar het Windows startmenu en typ in de zoekbalk “cmd” en
druk op enter. U komt dan in een command prompt.

Als u “ipconfig” typt, gevolgd door een enter, krijgt u een dergelijk scherm als
het onderstaande te zien.
Dit zou overeen moeten komen met de gegevens van de DVR set, alles
behalve het laatste getal van het IP-adres (dat is het adres van uw computer,
andere apparaten krijgen een ander nummer) moet overeen komen.
Dit zal handmatig aangepast moeten worden in het menu van de DVR zelf.
Sluit hiervoor een monitor, muis en toetsenbord aan op de DVR set. U komt
via Systeem -> Netwerk in het volgende menu:
U moet bij de netwerkinstellingen zijn om het IP-adres, de Gateway en de

Primary DNS te wijzigen naar wat u als resultaat kreeg van de ipconfig.
Uw IP-adres moet u alleen niet letterlijk overnemen, het laatste cijfer
hiervan is specifiek voor elk apparaat binnen uw netwerk, in dit geval dus
uw computer. Wanneer dit opgeslagen is zou de DVR wel gevonden moeten
worden op uw computer en alle andere apparaten aangesloten op het
netwerk.
