Kim: Marjolein is lerares op een zwarte school in Rotterdam. Ze probeert altijd begripvol te zijn
tegenover haar leerlingen. Tot ze op een dag midden in de les bedreigd wordt door één van
haar leerlingen. Dan staat haar leven helemaal op zijn kop. Vanwege de slechte naam die de
school al heeft, hebben ze liever niet dat Marjolein aangifte gaat doen bij de politie. Maar de
bedreigingen gaan door en ze kan zich niet meer inhouden. Zij zelf denkt al meteen te weten
wie erachter zit en maakt daarvan melding bij de politie. Dan wordt ze vermoord en is het aan
haar man Raoul en haar tweelingzus Marlieke om uit te zoeken wie het op zijn geweten heeft.

Het verhaal wordt verteld vanuit het oogpunt van Marjolein en vanuit het oogpunt van Marlieke.
Ondanks dat ze tweelingzusjes zijn, zijn het twee verschillende types. De spanning zit er vanaf
de eerste pagina goed in tot halverwege dan zwakt het weer een beetje af, maar dan komt de
ontknoping die je totaal niet verwacht. Het boek is zo geschreven dat je je echt in de dames
kunt verplaatsten, je gaat zelfs meedenken wie de dader zou kunnen zijn. Ik vind het echt een
aanrader, ondanks dat je er af en toe wel even doorheen moet. Je wilt gewoon weten wie
uiteindelijk de dader is.
Lyanne: Ik hou van de boeken van Simone. Ze schrijft lekker vlot, de hoofdpersonen zijn
duidelijk en je zit vanaf minuut 1 helemaal in het boek. Het is dus niet zo verrassend dat ik ook
bij Schaduwzuster gelijk enthousiast was. Het is een goed verhaal en ik heb tot het einde niet
de moordenaar geraden (al raad ik bijna nooit wie de moord heeft gepleegd. Op één of andere
manier heb ik daar geen antenne voor, met als resultaat dat ik altijd zeer geschokt ben over het
einde van het boek. Wel lekker makkelijk; ik ben namelijk snel tevreden). Een heerlijke thriller
dus die je zeker een keer gelezen moet hebben!

boek las schrok ik heel erg! Haar hele prachtige pure stijl is verdwenen in dit boek. Ik vond het
een aanfluiting en een flutboek wat betreft verhaallijn. Te voor de hand liggend. Toch greep het
me lichtelijk aan? Heel bizar.
