On nomination, students must show their ability to speak German
sufficiently. The Friedrich Schiller University Jena does not require
any test certificates, but recommends that students should know
German on the B2 level of the Common European Framework of
Reference for languages in order to follow the course instructions.
For those attending courses in English, knowledge of the English
language at the B2/C1 level is required.
