Dort kamen
wir um 12.15 Uhr fröhlich wieder an. Sofort malten wir bis zum Schulschluss
unsere Lieblingsszene der Aufführung auf Papier.

We enjoyed it, we could see a model of satellite Gallileo or see the pictures of Earth during the day and night taken from this satellite.

LASEL Badminton Tournament 22/10/2015
Danish team wins...
After 2 wins in the group, we also survived the semi-final by winning 3-2 against
Athénée de Luxembourg. The final was also very tough, but our team finally beat
Lycée Garçons Luxembourg with 3-2.
After the remarkable win in 2013, this marks the second straight win in this
competition! As the best team in Luxembourg, our school has now the opportunity to
play in the Schools World Championship 2016 (28/3/2016-03/04/16) in Malta.
Congratulations to the 5 fine boys who represented so well our school during this
tournament!

Schooltrip to Milan

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u8MngaEcD8

A group of 32 Year 7 Economics students took part in a successful visit to the EU’s financial
capital, Frankfurt Am Main, in December to enjoy high level presentations on Eurozone
Monetary Policy.
The day opened with a presentation at the DZ Bank AG, headquarters of Germany’s largest
co-operative bank, where Political analyst Daniel Lenz spoke to the group on the impact of
current Eurozone monetary policy.
Later in the day, our students joined colleagues from the Frankfurt European School for a
second presentation, this time at the prestigious new headquarters of the European Central
Bank. Educational visits to the new site are still rare, so this was a unique opportunity for
European School students.
At the ECB, the students heard Diego Rodriguez Palenzuela, a senior member of the bank’s
General Economics Directorate, deliver an up-to-the-minute overview of current ECB
monetary policy.
Both speakers praised the well-informed, interesting and even testing nature of the questions
raised by our students. In particular, there were questions over the on-going problems
affecting southern European national economies, such as Greece, and the measures put in
place to solve them. There were also highly technical questions from the students on topics
such policy instruments and the likely consequences of current Eurozone policies.
In the gap between the two presentations, students had opportunities to contribute directly to
the German national economy and make retail price comparisons between Luxembourg and
its large neighbour!
The students were accompanied by their Economics teachers, Maren Brandenburg
(Economics co-.coordinator), James Mulrennan and Michael Moule

EN – English speaking
Mr Bean
Mr Bean may be a surprising choice to encourage spoken and
written English - including boring old grammar. After all, when
he occasionally speaks, he gobbles like a turkey and one has
to try very hard to capture what he is saying.
But it is his body that talks, articulately, so expressively, and so
S1 L2 had no trouble, in between giggles, at times, in talking
about his feelings, his thoughts, his looks....and his sometime
malice. And in telling their own stories (once they start they are
unstoppable! And such stories!)
In simple present, past and future tenses, Mr Bean has also
been most helpful in transforming grammar from "duty" to
something like fun.
Equally important in the class (we are 28...phew...) is just
laughing together, and feeling comfortable in English and with
the many new faces - no matter how good or not so good you
are at English.
Laughter really does help the learning process forward.
Thank you, Mr Bean. HeeHee...HaaHaa.....
